You should plan to arrive 10 minutes early and bring or wear comfortable clothing – a tshirt or athletic material shirt – for under your gi. Women and girls often wear bike shorts, capris, or leggings underneath their gi pants as well. You’ll be partnered with a more advanced student who’ll help you with the movements and answer any questions you may have.
Fundamentals classes include a structured warm-up with exercises that reinforce body movements relevant to Jiu Jitsu, technique instruction and drilling, and positional drilling, with optional rolling or live sparring. Ideal for beginners.
Adult classes include a structured dynamic warm-up, technique instruction and drilling, positional drilling, and live rolling.
Kids’ classes include a structured dynamic warm-up, technique instruction and drilling, learning through game play, and positional drilling.
Open Mat (aka "you time")
Open mat does not include a structured warm-up or technique instruction, but offers students additional mat time for live rolling and technique drilling. This is your time to work with a partner on anything you want.
